Home Visits and Lactation Support (Whatcom County)

Maternity Support Services

Sea Mar Community Health Center provides breastfeeding support and infant case management services to income-eligible residents of Whatcom County. Their WIC clinic offers breast feeding peer counselors.

Answers Counseling is a provider of maternity support services, infant case management, crisis family intervention and Guardian ad Litem services. Their services are available to all Medicaid eligible pregnant women within the state of Washington.

Lactation Support / Childbirth and Breastfeeding Classes

Bellingham Technical College typically offers several classes on postpartum and newborn care (including specific classes on breastfeeding) as well as childbirth and general parenting classes.

Peace Health Outpatient Lactation Support (Cordata Clinic), Bellingham, Washington. Lactation consultants are available every day of the week for those who need extra help. Provides assistance to both Peace Health patients and others.

La Leche League of Bellingham and Whatcom County is a group made up of experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding.
